With a 240Hz technology LG claims that the LG LH55 outdid similar blur busting technology from other LCD makers. The 37-inch 37LH55, 47-inch 47LH55 and the 55-inch 55LH55 all falling this category. They all have similar specifications and provide similar picture quality.

The 37-inch 37LH55 with a full HD 1080p display resolution goes for just over $1000 and has a flossy black bezel that blends into one’s home. It has a contemporary design that has some trace of transparency in addition to the glossy black frame thereby adding elegance to the room where it is placed. At the bottom right, a glowing LED light can be spotted that adds some style to the design and also acts as an indicator of the power status. With a 240Hz refresh rate this model virtually reduces motion blur in images especially during fast moving scenes. The only problem is that some buyers did see some substantially less motion blur than in a standard 60Hz refresh rate TV.

With a dynamic contrast of 80,000:1, the black level is a little bit on the unimpressive side. While the display can get brighter, details are lost in the darker area scenes. However, its color performance is still incredible with a color temperature auto adjustment control that made the color accuracy reasonable. It also has a good loyalty to the standard color scope hence ensures that color comes out in the intended way.

It has 4 HDMI ports for connecting to AV devices, 2 composite video inputs, and 2 component video inputs on top of having an optical audio output. It also features a USB 2.0 port that can be used for viewing photos and listening to music from an external storage device.

It has a long and thin remote control with a lovely layout of the buttons. The only problem is that it doesn’t feel well built and most buyers didn’t quite like the faux leather texturing that has been added to the plastic. With an invisible speaker system the audio capability is clear but average. The Clear Voice II technology enhances and amplifies the frequency ranges. It can also be personalized with a new 12-step adjustment level. The surround feature adds a bit more bass to the audio increasing the depth of the sound. Its menu interface is simple and user friendly with a nice collection of picture options.

With an Intelligent Sensor that automatically adjusts lighting depending on the room’s conditions, this model renders pictures perfectly. The PictureView wizard can be used to get pictures looking great. Manual calibrations can be done with the use of a remote by providing reference points for vital picture quality such as hue, black level, and tint among others. It has an AV mode II which one can switch to optimize the total viewing experience and audio quality. LG has also added a true cinema experience by implementing a Real Cinema technology that displays a 24p source frames same as a film.

It is Energy 3.0 certified, meaning it saves you from high cost while at the same time saving the environment.
